Our department is going to skip this version (unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade).

    Hello,

There is currently a bug logged for exporting data to shapefile in ArcMap 10.6.1: Bug #000115801. An error comes up that says “Error exporting data. Open featureclass failed.” ESRI mentioned that this bug will not be resolved until the release of 10.7. Here is a link to a discussion post regarding the bug: https://community.esri.com/thread/221369-failed-exporting-from-enterprise-gdb-1061

Here are workarounds provided by ESRI:
    • In the layer’s attribute table, select all the rows; in Table Options select Export.
    • Right click the feature class within the database in the Catalog Tree. Export to Shapefile (Single).
    • Use the Feature Class to Feature Class tool and export.

    Other option:
    • Go to Full Extent
    • Right-click the layer for the feature class and select Data > Export Data…
    • Select Export “All features In View Extent”

    Thank you!
