Background
The County of Los Angeles GIS & Equity Working Group is a cross-department initiative to collaborate on equity-related projects that rely on GIS data and tools. This group was formed in summer 2022 to address the following needs:
- To respond to equity-related board motions and administrative requests effectively and collaboratively
- To create a central resource for equity-related GIS data, applications, and other resources that may be used by:
- County staff
- Other agencies
- County vendors
- Board offices
- County executives / directors
- To avoid duplication of effort
Meetings
This working group meets monthly on Microsoft Teams. All County GIS users are welcome to join the working group. Please use this link to access the team. Meeting topics include:
- Equity-related project updates and knowledge sharing
- Refining and improving the Equity Hub
- Evaluating or proposing new content for the Hub, or improvements to existing content
