Electronic Permitting and Inspections (EPIC-LA) system – EPIC-LA is used by Department of Public Works, Department of Regional Planning, Department of Parks & Recreation, and Fire Department uses the CAMS address points to assist with assigning permits and/or the CAMS Geosearch functionality provides the ability to easily locate both residential and business addresses.
Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG911 or NG9-1-1) – NG911 is an enterprise solution that will result in a nationwide system of systems that must share a common approach and be interoperable. Implementation of NG911 is a complex, phased process that may have multiple stages and multiple ways for a state to migrate to NG911. The process often is referred to as a journey and, as with any journey, there will be moments of rest, roadblocks, and strategic routes to reach the end destination. *California NG9-1-1 is being Implemented by CALOES’s Communication Branch. They are in the initial process of establishing an Next Generation GIS Task Force, which LA County ISD (Rachel Rodriguez, CAMS Coordinator) will be serving on.
