Address Workflow Discussion of Next Generation 9-1-1

To kick-off LA County’s part, we are hosting an Forum on August 12th at 1:30 pm to discuss workflows, governance issues, considerations for technical and operational planning, and many other topics, with Next Generation 9-1-1 being the catalyst for the conversation.

The coordination and collaboration between City/County/State is essential to facilitate best data management practices and ensure address integrity for all data users. This conversation is not a one-time endeavor, but an continual partnership building between all parties; input and institutional knowledge will relieve some of the complicated nature of this process. As mentioned in previous Meeting(s); the NG911 network will route 9-1-1 calls using GIS, not the MSAG/ESNs currently used… which requires conversion from static tables to GIS road centerlines. (For more information.)

To initiate the conversion, we are hoping that as many of you as possible will attend so we can begin to learn what is required. If you have an existing relationship with a GIS person or Building and Safety or Public Safety Unit in your city or neighboring city, please forward this invite and have this in-person meeting be the catalyst for a better working relationship(s). Please register through the Eventbrite registration below.

Hope to see you then (and don’t forget to register so we can have enough seating and handouts).

Any questions, let me know. Thanks,
