In 2022, the U.S. Survey Foot is scheduled to be deprecated. The move is said to eliminate confusion. Currently, the California Public Resources Code (Sec. 8810) designates the U.S. Survey Foot for State Plane Coordinates and is the unit we use for our GIS data.
