After much anticipation, the Little Hoover Commission has released their much anticipated report regarding GIS in the State: MAPPING A STRATEGY FOR GIS.
The full report is linked below, but the THREE key points they came to were:
-
- Designate a state Geographic Information Officer
- Create a GIS Advisory Council of governmental leaders and other stakeholders
- Use GIS to evaluate regional disparities in funding and the delivery of services
I think we should do an Enterprise GIS post related to this.
Also, I think folks at the City of LA should get this report – just change everything to “City of L.A.” from “State of CA” and it would be [mostly] applicable.
