Participate: CalGIS 2020 Posters and Web Maps/Apps (submissions due 12/16)

As mentioned previously, the State GIS Conference, CalGIS will be back in our neighborhood (Long Beach Hilton) this February 9-11. We are going to having a strong focus on GIS in local government this year, including a great Keynote by former mayor of Baltimore and Governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley.

I’d encourage GIS staff at all levels to attend some or all of the conference as appropriate to your interests. There are a selection of workshops on day one and then two days of other presentations/tracks.

While it is too late to submit talks for the program, there is still an opportunity to share your good work with the community during CalGIS 2020.

This year for the first time there are options to share both printed and digital materials to the gallery.

  • Hard Copy Posters –Clear project background, objectives, process/methods, and results with compelling graphics and/or visualizations
  • Web Maps & Applications –Meaningful or practical topics in an intuitive interface. Includes web maps, mobile apps and GIS applications that will be showcased on monitors/screens during the conference.

To be considered for participation in the CalGIS poster & web app/map session, an abstract must be submitted (250 words max) by December 16, 2019.  A submission form is available here

Notifications of the selected submissions will be sent out in early January, 2020.
