eGIS NOTICE: AGOL Switching to Azure Authentication on Monday, Dec 14th (4pm)

UPDATE 12/14/20: The switchover to Azure has successfully completed.

WHEN & WHAT: On Monday, December 14th (4pm), we will be switching our enterprise authentication method from ADFS (our current method) to MS Azure. You may notice a temporary inability to log into AGOL between 4pm-4:30pm on this day.

TWO REASONS WHY: 1) ADFS is eventually going away, so we feel it is best to change to Azure now; and, 2) this will resolve log in issues for users of ArcGIS Pro v2.6 that we have isolated as related to ADFS.

WHO WILL THIS AFFECT?: This change only applies to AGOL users with Enterprise (LA County) credentials (this does not apply to stand alone ArcGIS logins).

HOW: This will be done behind the scenes, and users should notice no real change in the way that we have all traditionally logged into ArcGIS Online. At most, if you are outside the County network, you may receive a login screen for Microsoft 365 which will cache your LA County credentials for 7 days.

We will send out a notice when this change has been successfully completed. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the ISD eGIS Group (egis@isd.lacounty.gov).
