CalEnviroScreen 4.0 now available

Hello,

For those of you working on Equity and Environmental Justice projects, you’ll want to check out the latest version of CalEnviroScreen that was released just last week.  This is big news as the previous version (3.0) was released back in 2018.  Below is the announcement from the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) along with some links that include data downloads, updated Experience Builder apps and Hub site:

The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) announces the availability of CalEnviroScreen 4.0, the latest version of the California Communities Environmental Health Screening Tool. CalEnviroScreen is used to help identify California communities that are disproportionately burdened by multiple sources of pollution.

The report, a summary of major changes, and data are available on the CalEnviroScreen 4.0 website. Interactive maps of the CalEnviroScreen 4.0 results and individual indicators are also available.

Also see the CalEnviroScreen Hub website, where you can find data, maps, supplemental analyses and other information on CalEnviroScreen 4.0 as it is released.

This new version updates the tool’s pollution and vulnerability indicators with the latest data and improved methodologies. A new indicator on children’s exposure to lead from housing was also added. OEHHA conducted extensive outreach to ensure public participation played an integral role in the development of the CalEnviroScreen updates.
