This is just a heads up on an issue I noticed today regarding publishing a map service to ArcGIS Server from ArcGIS Pro. I published a parcel analysis layer to egisags6 and removed several fields from the layer that I didn’t want visible, including, of course, Owner Name. After publishing the map service from Pro, I noticed that all of the fields were visible in the REST service, including Owner Name! I deleted the service and tried again from ArcMap, and had no issues. I’ve not seen much chatter about this issue on Geo-net, though someone said that it was problematic publishing to an older version of ArcGIS Server from Pro (we are at 10.6.1)….maybe an upgrade to ArcGIS Server will fix this. So, if you’ve published a map service from Pro, you may just want to make sure that there isn’t any fields that you don’t want people to see in there. I’ve not had this issue publishing from Pro to a Hosted Feature layer.
If anyone has a workaround, please comment….my workaround this time was just to use ArcMap!
