The latest updates to Zoning data are now available in the EGISDBP1 repository in the table: eGIS_Boundaries_Admin.EGIS.DRP_ZONING_UNINCORPORATED_NEW_SCHEMA. Please take the opportunity to review the new table and take note of any changes that may affect existing map services.
Schema Changes
No existing fields in DRP_ZONING_UNINCORPORATED are going to be removed. We are only adding the following fields:
- Z_CATEGORY – This is the general zoning category without the density suffix. For example, if a Zone is R-1-7500, the general zoning category is R-1.
- PLNG_AREA – This is the Planning Area that was established by our General Plan which is the framework in which our community planning efforts are organized (more info is here).
- TITLE_22 – This is a link to our zoning code that is based on the Zoning Category field, and it can be used in your ArcGIS Online apps to hyperlink to each zoning category; the metadata for this layer explains how to do this and contains an Arcade expression.
- Date_Updated – this will be updated with a date once an edit (zone change) is made. We have not previously had this, so right now this is all NULL.
Update Schedule
We will maintain both zoning layers (DRP_ZONING_UNINCORPORATED and DRP_ZONING_UNINCORPORATED_NEW_SCHEMA) in their current state in the repository through 2/23/23. Before this date, please republish any map services that use zoning to reference the NEW_SCHEMA table and test for any issues in your maps and applications. We will implement the schema changes in the main DRP_ZONING_UNINCORPORATED table on 2/23/23, after which you can republish again based on that table. On 3/23/23 we will drop the NEW_SCHEMA table and expect all services to be using the updated DRP_ZONING_UNINCORPORATED layer.
