Bathymetry and Topography at the Land-Ocean Interface: NAS Webinar on May 11

Hi folks,

Some of you may be interested in this webinar, so passing along the info. This is hosted by the National Academy of Sciences Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics from 11am-2pm (PDT) next Thursday, May 11th. Registration is free. This may be of particular interest to those who have mapping/management jurisdiction in the coastal zone.

The National Academies’ Committee on Solid Earth Geophysics invites you to join us May 11, 2023 from 2 PM-5 PM ET for a meeting discussing new and emerging bathymetric and topographic mapping technologies and their applications to coastal hazards.

High resolution bathymetry and topography data are required for a diverse array of Earth applications including studying tectonic processes, assessing and utilizing geological resources, ensuring safe marine navigation, understanding natural hazards and mitigating their impacts, and much more. Measuring bathymetry and topography near coastlines presents special challenges and opportunities.
